No AI. Not ever.

In line with the requirements of most universities worldwide, I do not use AI tools in my proofreading. Your work — the work to which you have dedicated so much time and effort — deserves careful attention from a person rather than an algorithm.

A human proofreader with decades of academic and editorial experience brings something an algorithm cannot: a genuine understanding of your aims, of the importance of nuance and context, and of the need for consistency in tone and perspective. I also offer a deeper sensitivity to bias in language, especially in texts that require specialised vocabulary or specific academic conventions.

I use 'Track Changes' when correcting your work, so every edit is fully visible and transparent. I am always happy to explain any change in detail and to respond to any queries you have, because this is your work, and you should understand everything I have done to it.
